None of my guns like crowmags. Predators do fair out to 30 yards in some of my guns. I use Predators on coon and skunks out of my AA S400 in 22 cal and the FX 22 cal Cyclone takes care of tree rats and other pest.

crow mags for 25yrds or less and the preds for every thing else

i got the last three tins of .25 cal predator polymags from dick dixon over at predator international monday. they should get here tommorow ill post some pics. TALK ABOUT BEING LUCKY I GOT THE LAST THREE TINS 😀 😀

Capitol 271!!! Thanks for posting those great pics…especially of the Modified Crow Magnum”. My experience is that they expand like that upon contact.

It depends on the application. I use .25 Crow Magnums at 8 yards, (24 feet!). I score them accross the cavity making them “Modified Crow Magnums”. They are accurate and they expand like a pistol bullet creating extreme damage that has anchored every critter that has had the misfortune to run afoul of them. There’s no more wounded rats, or ground squirrels escaping under the fence to die in the tree hugging neighbor’s yard. 😉 Some of the smaller rats have been cut in half by the MCM pellet!

Like many other people, I am waiting for a tin, (150 count), of .25 Predators to test for accuracy at longer distances. I’m hoping that they will hold true out to 50 yards such that I can use them on the ground squirrels. If not, there is always the .25 caliber, 25 grain JSB Kings, and the 31 grain Kodiaks. That’s the advantage of .25, if you can get a pellet on target, you get a kill. Have I meentioned that I really like my .25 Marauder? 😀

bottom pellets were retieved from squirrels i killed. look at the how the polymag expanded and the crow mag didnt much.

the pellet all the way at the right is a crow mag that was modified.

a picture of the rifle the pellets were shot from.

quote WalkonKing:

Anything past 30 yards is a crap shoot

I always kept my crow mag shots under 25 yards for that reason.

Cromags suck ass.

Anything past 30 yards is a crap shoot

I was a fan of crowmag 177 over predator 177 due to over penetration of the predator. BUT I switched to the new H&N Hunter / Kodiak HP with much better results. Remember I’m 177 – the game likely changes for 22 owners.

There’s a new kid on the block with the UltraMag pellet which is like a Predator except it has a metal tip and carries more weight.
