What’s holding barrel in Condor SS
Removed baffles, two screws on bottom, and two screws on side. nothing gives. Just need to switch out the hammer. Is there something in the trigger group holding it?

I would use a bigger shroud but 6 in. better then nothin!
I’m not an “SS” owner and I wouldn’t want to steer you the wrong way. No problem with the barrel swap but I would talk to Tony at Talon Tunes regarding the shroud. He can get you fixed right up!

Looks like I will need to replace the barrel, the question remains, can I use a 24″ barrel in this SS frame by removing the baffles and using a 6″ shroud?
They used to call me sledge before they hid my big brass punch and hammer. I found the only thing I needed a small brass punch for was to remove the trigger/ safety group. Afterwards they told me that those pins only come out one way. I modded mine so they come out anytime they want to. 😳 Duh, then I took anger management classes and learned to set things aside for a few days or so.
Actually I didn’t punch the pins out the wrong way because the good guys on this forum shared the necessary info. Sometimes it takes a few days to get an answer because many of us have been through it numerous times and hesitate to allow someone else to step up. Then too we rely on Tony to fill us in on new stuff our older guns don’t have.

That sucks about your barrel Buckhorn. Do yourself a favor and leave that brass drift in your toolbox for doing auto repair. Wooden dowels ONLY for AF gun work. Hopefully, you can repair that barrel BUT, keep in mind that that’s where your breech seals ride. If it’s not perfect, you will have all sorts of problems. Blow by, inconsistent shots, pre mature breech seal wear etc.

The barrel slips right out when you remove all the screws. 😳 There was a screw hidden under my dove tail adapter for my bi-pod. Since I was a little heavy handed with the barrel, I damaged it at the breech end, might be able to fix it. My question now is can I run a 24″ barrel in this SS using a 6″ shroud?
CondorSS also has the baffle stop screw in the bottom rail. Everyone misses that screw.
You cannot remove the barrel while that screw is in place.
try using a wooden dowel to push the barrel through. It sounds as if your barrel bushings are real tight. Make sure to remove all 6 screws first. After you get your barrel out, you may want to wrap some fine steel wool around a piece of garden hose n use it like a cleaning rod to clean the inside of your frame.
Removed tank and used brass punch on barrel still don’t move.
That should do it. It might be the hammer holding it back a little.
Remove the power wheel retainer screw and the spring and hammer should get out with the barrel.

There are four set screws two on the underside and two on the left side that screw through the frame and impact the two barrel bushings to retain the barrel. Be careful as the hammer spring will force the barrel out when the last set screw is removed. The set screws do not need to be removed completely.
