What’s the verdict on Crow Magnum pellets?
Found a tin in my toolbox… didn’t even know I had them…

I’d be happy to answer my own question, but it’s winter here in Michigan, so there ain’t no real shootin’ that’s going to happen for a while.

I can’t use them 😥 . Maybe at 10 and 15 yards but they fly around alot when I tested them.
They look cool, but I have standardized on JSB exactas as the best all around pellet, at least in 22cal.
Crow Magnum has horrible ballistics, which means it shed velocity quickly, and this can be a benefit for shooters concerned with down range damage.
Have never been in the top five pellets tested for accuracy, not in .177, 20, 22, or 25. Some rifles shoot them well enough to be useful out to 30yards or so.
Do seem to need a certain inpact velocity to do any expanding….call it 800fps (although they’ll sometimes work in .25 down to about 700, and the .177’s seem to need a bit more than 800 to do their thing). IF they don’t expand, then they act like heavy wad cutters..which isn’t a bad thing on small body critters.

better in .25 than in .177 and .22
great if they fly straight out of your rifle….just because they are good at 15-30 yards does not mean they will perform at 50
Basically, if you can hit what your aiming at they will hit like no other. They deliver thier energy quickly, usually ending with a complete shutdown on squirrels.
I like to use them at close range, say 20y and under.

for me they are “hunting accurate” to about 30 yds and impact is great. up close and personal pest removal, they are great. just have to shoot enough of them to figure out what your useful range is.

I think they are good for fairly close range hunting, but if you’re trying to be accurate, they don’t cut it; for me anyways.
They go spinning out the barrel and are harder to push in than any pellet I’ve tried.
