What scope do you have on your Edgun?
Interested as to what scope you all have on your Edgun.
Fixed power?
Tactical turrets?
Mag power?

how do you feel for the weight of the Vortex Razor?? isn’t heavy ??? have no doubt for the quality and all,,is was one of my choices to buy,,,but after using my EdScope ,,,,, i stopped my plan and saved money to buy more stuffs ,,,, my EdScopes are very good for my PCPs .. .. so,,doesn’t need spend more money …
It is on the heavy side but I mostly shoot paper so not a huge problem for me, when I do hunt I have not really found the weight an issue either as its always on a sling. The built quality and glass on the Razor is just amazingly good. Also got a S&B PMII MTC recently and have been extremely please with that purchase.
Received my Edgun scopes few weeks ago too and can’t fault them, have just put my AD rings on them yesterday and will be mounting it on my .25 standard and taking it out this weekend. Very good glass for the money.
Trying to decide on a scope for the Leshie now, really like the IOR but they are a little heavy for the intended purpose of this gun.

For Edgun Matado, I have SWFA10x42 10 fix power.
For my lelya, I used SWFA 10×42, but it’s a little bit too long. Now I have Hawke 2-7×32 airmax(http://www.hawkeoptics.com/airmax-2-7×32-amx.html). It fits my lelya so well. When I put it on, the POI is only one mildot above the crosshair at 35 yards and no click on windage adjustment.
I use my edgun r3m .22 for field target and benchrest competitions. Use a nikko stirling night eater 6 – 24 x 56 on it.
My scopes before & after. Top is an R3M .25 Standard and bottom is the same gun modified to be an Ultra Short.
Before = Athlon Midas BTR Midas BTR 4.5-27×50
After = Bushnell Elite Long Range Hunter LRHS 3-12×44
The LRHS is a tad more compact and fitting of this shorter gun but the Midas is an excellent 2nd focal plane scope. The glass on both scopes are are very hard to distinguish in quality even though the LRHS is priced much higher. For me I decided I like 1st focal plane more so my Midas is for sale :smilen: .
Like the opinions already posted, a Hawke Sidewinder isn’t as great as it’s been hyped to be. I’ve own an Eclipse and Sidewinder in the past and thought they were great until I used others and come to the realization how subpar the Sidewinders are for their price. I’ll take an Athlon over a Hawke any day of the week. I’ve never used a SWFA or Edgun scope mentioned here but I like variable magnification scopes based on my usages. At 12x, shooting game inside of 30 yards can be a chore if they have the tendency to move around. In that scenario having the option to back out to 3-6x magnification to increase my field of view is very helpful “to me”.
I’ve always thought that the Bushnell Elite 2.5-16 is one of the better airgun scopes. Focus to 10yards, standard mil-dot reticle, decent quality glass, reasonable weight. That’s what I have on my Matadors.
This was exactly the reason for my post.
I know the Hawks is the wrong scope for the Edgun. I am having a Switch around which leaves the Edgun .25 without one.
Can’t make my mind up on what to get.

very very nice info ,,, i do agree with all your points, not because i use fixed power Edgun scope, i tell the truth and from my experience, i think i mentioned this one more time before,
last year i went to hunt with my father-in-law, that time i had installed my Hawke 8.5-25X42 SF on my Edgun, i went to hunt and saw about 10 pheasants i could hunt only 1 out of all i saw, when i came back to home i checked my Edgun to investigate what happen to my gun, why i couldn’t hit any of them,,, i was very sad and disappointed, then i became to know that the magnification is changed to 14X which i use to fix and zero my scope at 8.5 … because i use it for hunting only … so, ,, i was very angry and decided to install my fixed power Edgun scope, since that time, i haven’t faced such problems, and i found my Edgun scopes are very light weight and compact,
so, never used the Hawke again ,,, i stored it, here is some pics ,,,

Keyser: Very nicely put, that scope had the same reticle as the SWFA scope (without the numbers). Do you feel the quality is the same? The SWFA is 125.00 bucks cheaper as well.
Currently I am using the EDgun MPR2 scope on my Matador. Before I got these scopes I used the SWFA SS 12X. If you are using an airgun for informal target shooting, hunting and pest control I think a variable powered scope is useless and a waste of money. If it wasn’t for Ted’s Holdover no one would even know what a Hawke was in the USA. I would never own a scope that has a MOA turret and a mil-dot system on the reticle.
The Practical hunting range for an air rifle is 150 yards and below. Sure I have made shots further than 150 but honestly that is real world hunting range. Compare that with my 17 Hornet who pretty much doesn’t even require holdover at 150 yards. My point is you really never need more than 12X. The multi-powered scope comes in FFP or SFP. The SFP is useless because the mil-dot reticle are only calibrated for one magnification. This means if you are taking critters at various ranges you will leave the scope on a fixed power setting. So why add weight, cost and complication to your scope? The FFP on the other hand is great in that no manner what magnification you choose the mil-dots are always true. The down side is the FFP holdover is useless at the lower power ranges. If you have a 3-15X FFP the mil dots only are only barely useful at 6X. So you just spent all this money on a FFP scope and you’ll end up using it at 12-15X. Most of the time you’ll find 10-12X is most practical however because the reticle and sub-tensions are too thick at higher magnification. So why not save weight, money and headache and just get the fixed powered scope? I will cover these subjects in my next video.

I have Super Sniper SS16x42 MilDot for 10 years on my Edguns no regrets, nice Japan optics and quality.
