What SWFA do you have and why?
Soooo, say I might have found a way to get a SWFA fixed power scope to my country (legit) but can’t decide wich One to pick, what are your personal suggestions?
I am thinking of the 10x because it will be used for hunting and that should be enough right:

But maybe I should get two while I am at it? A 16x as well perhaps? Or maybe a 20x
The thing is I want a simple lightweight hunting scope for my Cricket compact -> 10x. But I might get a .25 later that can Hunt at longer distances so getting a 16x or 20x for future purposes might be Nice, they are not as lightweight though.

What scope Mounts do you use with them? I want it on a cricket that uses the cheek piece.
Nice. That should work ok unless you look at the graduations which I typically don’t much. I do adjust while aiming constantly with the side wheels.
Agreed ao is a pain, but the Focus on this scope is where the magnification would normally be. Ao is in the very front so you have to reach for it. This type of Focus is even closer to you than SF, no need to reach right?
Yep – I consider the side adjs a requirement for these PCPs. My PRod has a Hawke Panorama 4-12 with a front Parallax AO and it is a PIA. Nice scope otherwise. All of the rest have always had side.
Why is it a pain? I have a thing that Works like a cable tie but with a “knob-handle” that makes adjusting the parallax easy.

Is that the only reasonor, difficult to turn/adjust or do you perhaps use the markings?
As with any scope the higher magnification the more heat Mirage you’ll pick up. Plus the 12 power has the rear Parallex adjustment, which for me is a pain in the ass after having a side Parallex adjustment. M :2cents
I have both the 10 power and the 12 power, I love them both, I love the reticle on both. Both scopes are crystal-clear I just wish that the 12 power had the side Parallex adjustment. For me for my type of shooting 12 power is more than enough. I can see where the 16 power would be handy for target shooting but mostly all my shooting is varmint.
The small field of view makes it difficult to acquire targets walking around hunting. True for any scope much above maybe 16x.
Keyser, can you please tell us more why you would not recommend the 20x SWFA?
Mike, I’ll tell you how I did it when the deal is sealed. The scopes are backordered anyways so have to wait for them to get back in stock.
I am not sure how you get anything shipped over to Sweden,

They don’t get too cheap when you buy from Sweden, shipping is over 100 USD and the there is customs….
I can’t buy a SWFA because then all of my other scopes would look bad. :confusedn:
They get real close to the really expensive stuff on reviews at a fraction of the cost.

20X
FOV @ 100 m = 1.6 Meters
12X
FOV @ 100 M = 3.2 meters
It can be very difficult to find small critters in your scope with a limited FOV.
You also lose a lot of holdover, remember the reticle stays the same size so because of the increase magnification you lose some holdover at the bottom end. For field work anything more than 16x causes too much mirage.
