Whats the heaviest hammer anyones got ?
just weighed my stainless one and it weighs in at 139 grams i also changed the valve spring its been like this for a long while before i started reading on this site works ok i just lobbed everything together

I tend to go with a leaf spring from an old volvo, the more rust the better it is, I think it acts like the dry graphite grease 😀 Oh, but keep the rubber bushings at each end, you don’t want to go crazy…..

my 90 gram hammer has done it all up to the 466fpe.

I made a maul like that too. Welded steel pipe on a maul head. wear gloves to keep vibration down. After 3 indistructable fiberglass handles shattered I tried it. I like the heavy maul too, once shes going she does not like to stop. never weighed mine though.
All this hammer talk is making me want to “go upstairs and fetch grandpa”!

hell i have a 28 lb splitting maul dont know where my grandfather got it but damn is it a beast
it is a steel handle and steel head and is a bitch to swing but once its moving watch out cause its not stopping

I use a 5 pound hand sledge in the shop. 😆
My 32oz ball-peen usually gets the job done.
Our 25lb sledgehammer is pretty heavy.
