Q:

whats the matter with cricket shrouds

My first cricket 22 was bought on yellow which ended up having a bad shroud and finally got it replaced and its back in action and a tack driver. So I take delivery on 25 cal and the darn thing has a bad shroud too. Pellets clip to top of shroud. It shows too as I have to shim scope and turn it up one whole revolution. It didn’t group good from the start. I had a scope on it I bought used on yellow and Hawke replaced it with a brand new one just today. So I figured I’m going to try my luck again with new scope. I also have the Burris rings with inserts so I can bring it close to center but had a time doing that too. Finally I started looking at gun and saw pellets were clipping. Pellets clip so hard they make no streaks on shroud they just paint the whole thing gray on the inside of shroud. The measurement at scope end is 0.056 and one the fill end its 0.037 off from the air tube. Another this is the screws on the scope rail needed tightening too. On my 22 cricket you can’t budge them but on 25 I could tighten them down quite a bit. So I’m wondering how many shroud issues there are with crickets that we don’t talk about .. If I prop shroud up gun groups extreme well at 50 yards but what the heck is going on with me getting all the bad shrouds. My partner sent his 25 back because he can’t get it to shoot. So looks like we have a BC problem of our own :angrymob:

Could you run a reamer through it?

quote Triple 3:

I thought Steve sent you a new .25 shroud?

That was for 22 cal

I thought these were the bee’s knees
