Where to Source Cocking Plate?
OK so I just remembered reading a post about not pulling the trigger with the bolt open, otherwise it could break the cocking plate. Guys gun was out of commission for two months as a result.
Well wouldn’t you know I was shooting this weekend and somehow only managed to close the bolt halfway after a mag change. Pulled the trigger and heard a very unfamiliar noise. Thankfully nothing is broken as of now and I put another 50+ shots through the rifle.
That being said, I figure I would start looking to source a cocking plate just in case. Where can I get one of these? Two months seems like a ridiculous amount of time to wait on a part, so I want to be proactive.

Had a similar “dumb” mistake occur by letting a buddy shoot my .22 Cricket… He pulled back too hard and broke the “cocking link” (item #57) on the schematic… anyone got any idea where I might be able to order one?? Also, is that little pin that holds the link to the cocking lever spotwelded or can it be driven out? Have not been successful so far… :angrymob:
And that retard was me !!!! I got it from Peter at Topgun . It was I believe 37$ shipped. It’s not the part as what has to be done to replace it . Ernest had to drill a hole in the receiver to remove one of the pins to insert the cocking plate . Or you can break off one of the pins and do it yourself . I was MUCH more comfortable having Ernest do it . He was cool enough to do it while he was launching his website . repair is practically invisible.
It seems like one of those ” why would you pull trigger anyway” deals . But I was adjusting trigger and if you’ve ever adjusted a Kalibrgun trigger when you get it close a slight turn moves it a lot and was just cocking it and pulling , it didn’t occur till too late that the hammer was slamming into the cocking plate
