I have the Hawke 8-32×56 on my Condor, it has some nice stuff for the price range. It is huge and a bit heavy but good for the price point.

I have the Hawke 6-24X56 on my Edgun. You shouldn’t have any problems at 6 shooting at close range. The 56 will gather a little more light than the 50 also

yeah it is a dense tropical jungle. i just want to upgrade so i can give mine to my bro when i get there. when looking through mine it seems like 3 or 4x is about perfect for the bush but would like to be able to crank her up.
my mind is pretty much set on a hawke sidewinder 30 4-16×50. i want a big dia. for more light and the 6-24×56 has it but might be too powerfull, thats why i mentioned the utg.
i wanna know if any of yall use a 6+ mag. scope how limited it might be with the closer stuff because im very attracted to the 6-24×56 but will do alot of closer shooting.

Well said. Also in low light all my scopes are 30mm tubes not 1″.

What range is your most likely shot at? When I think of “jungle,” I’m thinking 20-30 yards as likely ranges with 40 yards as a long shot. If that is pretty close, than you have the right scope. The important thing in the field will be comfort with the reticle and cross hairs, not extra magnification. You’ll want to be sure that the crosshairs are not so thick they cover 4 square inches of target or so thin, you can’t see them in fading light.

I’ve got a gun that shoots great groups out to 50 yards (and beyond, rested) with a zero power holo sight. For a group, 1/4″ low on a shot is a big deal, if you shoot a pig a 1/4″ low in the heart, you’ll still have shot a great shot. If you lose the chance to shoot screwing around with the scope or finding the target in a picture of hair, you’ll have no shot or story…

My guess is that a 3 or 4 power scope is plenty, if not more than enough for jungle shooting. If you shoot at dawn or dusk and the ranges are as close as I’m guessing, you might want to look at 1 or 2 power scopes vice higher powers.
