Sweet!

But then, I never saw an airgun I didn’t like…. :biggrinn:

Many thanks sir for sharing the knowledge :hoot:

Btw how does it look

quote hsnmz:

So a shroud having more volume behind the muzzle is not effective. Should it not accommodate more air being pushed back by baffles?

:hoot:

Yes, air expanding to the rear should help to reduce the noise. However, the effectiveness depends on several issues. Is the rear of the shroud readily available to expanding air coming from the muzzle? Are the baffles in front of the muzzle effectively designed to slow the air leaving the the barrel, so the air has time to expand, and thus reduce the air pressure leaving the shroud? But remember, space to expand is only one part of the equation in reducing muzzle blast.

Even if the shroud is longer, a second set of baffles will out perform a factory shroud any day of the week. That’s why we generally add a moderator to the front of the shroud if we need dead silent. I know of no factory shroud that can do this by itself.

It has been my experience that no gun coming factory equipped is going to be as quiet as it can be, even the long guns. That costs money, and few sellers feel the need to provide a dead quiet gun to such a widely diversified market as the pcp crowd, many of whom shoot way out in the sticks where no one gives a diddly shit.

I’m happy that we can add after-market mods to bring that noise down to undiscernible to the untrained ear.(nosy neighbors)

i dont think there will be much difference because section from the muzzle end is similar, and that what counts. you need to add something to the end to quiet it down.
