which NV SCOPE???????????
I was trying to decide between the ATN MK410 NV scvope which is generation 1 and a 5 X power scope for 600
or the Bushnell 5x power monocular 2nd generation scope for like 300
the advantages of the 410 are its a dedicated nv scope or in other words no fucking around
the disadvantage is the price and the clarity .
the bushnell advantage is 2nd generation , probably a better pic half the price .
disavantasdge is not a dedicated rifle scope and has to be jerry rigged onto another scope with out hopefully disturbing the zero .
most likely a smallr pic .
600 bucks makes me sick its as much as my condor .
which one would you choose???

Man I cant tell you how much you helped me out! those were all good write ups , and pretty much delt with my possible options that I was thinking about.
Im going to go with the ATN after reading your posts .
But something came up today and Im goign to have to put it on hold for while . but Im definately going with the ATN.
dont have the bucks for 2nd gen. but good enough I guess .
Yeah, main raason I’d take digital over Gen 1 is to avoid fisheye… but it isnt as bad in riflescopes as it is with monocular’s.

Not that bad as far as fisheye goes – real picture was nicer than my old point and shoot camera show’s too.
I never really liked Day scope mounted NV of either type – have tried it several times but never kept it. Even tried it with Gen 2 and 3 monoculars which are much smaller, so easier to use than Gen 1 or the current digital unit’s but still found them a bit of a pain in the ass. Add to that the fact that the bushnell is 5x makes it pretty tough to get it lined up… PLUS the offset lens sucks.
So if you dont mind tying up a rifle I’d suggest the ATN with an aftermarket flashlight with IR len’s (can buy a cheap surefire clone and the IR lens from dealextreme).
A third alternative would be a Yukon NVMT monocular mounted to a dayscope for about $180 for the monocular. Bone’s (member here) actually helped Yukon come up with their riflescope adapter for that one so its a bit less of a mess around… There is fish eye, but when mounted behind a scope it isnt as bad.
I saw the 5x yukon digital ranger work on you tube , so I figured the bushnell digital might work too.

But you guys are starting to convinve me that the ATN 410 is the better way to go .
the thing is too , is that ive seen some 1st gen sight pics and the edges are really blurry

Which bushnell… Stealthview 1 or 2?
I owned the Stealthview 1 and wouldnt recommend it as a Dayscope Adapter.
It’s digital right, not gen 2?
I never owned any night vision before, but I saw 1 of the comparision between night vision v3 vs SuperVision Night Vision with zoom, the SuperVision Night Vision seem to be better based on this video below.
Well, gen2 is always better… but:
A when you put a monocular behind a scope, the magnifications combine. I have a little 2x NV monocular, but I never could use it on the condor because it had an 8x scope on it. Putting the 2x behind that made it 16x, and that was way too high for close range hunting. So a 5x NV behind a scope of anything over 2x is probably not going to work well. Oh, and if you do go that route, buy an infrared flashlight for it, the one on the NV will be blocked by the scope.
So my vote is for the dedicated scope, unless you could find a way around the above, or buying a 1x gen2 monocular.

Your in the US right. You’re allowed to get the coolest stuff without export licenses etc!
With Nightvision it’s more true than with anything else. You get what you pay for. Save up big time and buy a nice GEN3 unit.
Digital is still nothing compared to G3. Gen2 isn’t really worth bothering for if you can get GEN3 as easy over there!
I know it’s a lot of money to safe up for but it will safe you from disapointment in the end.
Just remember nightvision isn’t a wonder tool!
