Q:

Which pcp pistol would you prefer ?

I am looking to buy a pcp pistol in .25 cal and was wondering which one is preferred over the other and why . They are the Air Force Talon P in .25 cal and the other is he marauder pcp pistol in .25 cal . I plan on hunting with it and some back yard target shooting . Which is the better gun all around ? How is the accuracy with these pistols ?

I have the .22 marauder pistol. I did some minor power tuning myself and it is pretty decent. I do not shoot very far with mine but it has done the job. If I shoot far I have air rifles! lol
mine is a great squirrel getter off the feeder!

Other than the flaw pointed out by Roachcreek concerning the Marauder pistol, both have their merits.

If you go with the Talon P, you will likely immediately buy the optional stock and you then have a carbine. Remove the 13 CI bottle and replace it with a 22 CI tank and add the AR style stock and you have a nicer carbine with more shots.

If I recall correctly, the Marauder pistol comes with a shoulder stock, so you have a carbine. Many covert it into a dandy little bullpup.

The Hatsan comes in two models, one with a removeable shoulder stock.

Physics pretty much dictates that an air pistol is going to be fairly large and heavy. Unless your goal is a “car” gun or you just want a new toy to occassionally pull out and play with or your goal is a carbine, you will likely be disappointed.

I personally would like to have a PRod so as to build a bullpup. I am also at present converting my old TSS into a “carbine”.

I don’t really know Rid 1965, the Talon P looks like something that Josh Randall from wanted dead or alive in the 1950’s would carry if he could not have a real handgun, and the PRod has difficulty in chambering 25 caliber pellet, being as it is only offered in 22 and all. 😯

Maybe you should look at the Hatson 25, which is just another cut down rifle. it is said to be huge and a clumsy.

Which brings us back again to the Talon P, it is obviously just another cut down air rifle, but it is accurate as hell and powerful. And you can also make it back into a rifle once you learn the error of your ways. 💡

Better yet, you can buy a valve from Doug, get a dick short barrel from TJ in 257 and then you just might have something for around 3 shots.

My money would be on the Talon P.

Good luck on your search, there is just not much out there in 25 caliber.

Regards,

Roachcreek
