Which scope and rings combo?
I just ordered a Talon SS in .22 cal from PA and am having a hard time choosing a scope. The Hawke Sidewinder Tactical 6.5-20×42 looks really nice, but do I need that nice of a scope for the Talon?

The real test will come when you get a chance to sight in and shoot a dozen or so groups. Glad u like the scope initially. You can always upgrade later and sell or put your current scope on your next gun.
Not bad… I got my 6.5-20 from SWFA for $389 since they pricematched it at a 110% discount.
I just put a hawke eclipse 30 sf 6-24 on my talon. I have not had a chance to sight it in yet but it is clear and stays clear at 24 power. The only thing i see that i would change if i could is on the highest power it is not very forgiving on eye placement but it is not a problem or hindrance. So far I am happy and it was $299 at pyramid air.
The bushnell trophy 4-12x AO is great for low light rat shooting at 4x and can hold its own punching paper on 12x.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the 6.5-20×42 Hawke… and ordered some BKL Double Strap Rings. I think I’d only regret not getting a nicer scope from the start by cheaping out on something under $200.
Speedy, I shoot a leupold mk 4 , 8.5-25x with TMR reticle. Expensive glass for sure , especially on an airgun. Do I NEED all that ? No. Could I still do well with a bushnell or a simmons ? Yes. However, I wake every morning and shoot for about half hour. I enjoy nice things (I took the mk4 off of a tactical rifle I hadn’t shot in three years) and using the best I can adds to the enjoyment. I get more pleasure out of a good airgun than I ever have shooting powder burners. No reloading,no cpmponents to track down and best of all, no two hour drive to the range.

That’s the plan… everything comes on Wednesday. Hopefully I won’t have any issues with the cheek weld and parallax/POI.
