Q:

which shroud?

OK so I don’t even have the rifle yet, but I plan on getting a condor .25 24″ barrel, at least that’s what I’m wanting right now lol. I want to make it quite enough to get rid of rats/tree rats with a lite pellet for yard use, but then be able to retune it for small game hunting and max power/accuracy. But before I get the 24″ barrel I just want to be sure which shroud to get. When I look on talon tunes website it has the option to add it to the build a gun, but then when I read the description of the 6/9″ shrouds they are for 18″ or smaller barrels? Eventually I plan to mod/upgrade the gun with the various mods but I want to use the gun and familiarize myself with the gun before I do them as well as save up cash lol. Is the only option the RL shroud? From the various videos I’ve watched it isn’t as effective as the talon tunes one?

Really appreciate the offer man I’d love to go, but I threw my back out on Sunday 😥 do you go often? Hopefully next time I’ll be feeling better.

Your welcome to go shooting with me. I’m going tomorrow. I don’t have anything stock. Might ruin you for pellets though 😀

I’m in monrovia.

Where do you live? I’m in Simi and shoot up in Palmdale

Yep top hat and shroud are definitely on my short list of definite upgrades. I’m pretty much a newbie so I’ve been reading up on everything and those seem to be the 2 biggest mods to get done. I may or may not add a heavier hammer and tank drop down adapter not sure till I get the gun and all the required stuff, I need to find someone local (LA county) that has a condor that wouldn’t mind letting me take a few shots one of these days. Funny thing I watched your videos before I posted the first time here lol.

Thanks for the info birdman.

Antdawg, if you want 1 gun that can do both quietly the talon tunes quick change top hat can also help. Run it wide ope with no insert for power then when you want target shooting throw in the smallest insert and in less than a minute with out having to remove the tank or anything you will have a tame back yard shooter. Thats the least expensive way to have the best of both worlds without dumping cash on a 2nd tank setup. If you dont mind popping out the top hat everytime you want to power down you can just throw a washer under the top hat to power it down. But popping that in and out increases the chance of damaging your seals in the valve.

Also for your scope, i have found a very nice addition called a razor ballistic zeroing system. All it is, is a delrin wheel that goes on the turret. You put small peices of colored fiberoptic pins in the hole that lines up with your “zero” for that yardage. That way you can have it set to 20 yds then just turn the turret to the next color and your at 40 yard zero. Have one set up for target shooting and one for hunting. Ill try to post a link in a few.

Guys , I have a Talon SS in .25 cal. with the 12 inch barrel and I have a TT 9 inch LDC on it and for a 12 inch barrel that is what it
will take to make it the quietest . For any SS barrel over 12 inches , 18 inches to 24 inches you will need to have the 14 inch LDC
if you want to make your SS gun the quietest as possible .

Thanks dj! Ya I’m in a similar situation as far as figuring what version to get, i havent emailed tony yet cause i dint have the cash yet but I’m looking at the regular condor .25 cal 24″ barrel version. I want to be able to get the most power when out hunting while also tune it down for backyard plinking. I’m always making noise so I don’t need it silent I just can’t have the sound of a gun going off which judging from YouTube videos it sounds like a condor .25 without any silencing sounds as loud as a .22 lol! I’ve only had pumper from wally world so this will be a huge step up in quality and power lol. Been saving up for a couple months I’ll probably be able to order everything by March it’s killing me to wait!

Ant, welcome to the sickness bro. I have an R&L shroud and a 14 inch Talon Tunes gen 6 shroud. Hands down the tt shroud is the quietest. Not dinging the r&l shroud that thing is solid and does a good job but nothing compares to the tt shroud. I have a few videos on youtube testing it and the decibel meter does not lie. At 90 fpe the impact is louder than the shot. And Im not shooting at gongs or cow bells my trap is an ammo can with several layers of Kevlar in the back with 2 layers about 1.5 inches think of high density foam with a layer of cardboard over the front so the targets stick. Its a pretty quiet and soft target. At lower power levels its truly ridiculous how quiet it is. At 36 and 40 fpe I knew I pulled the trigger cause there was a hole in the target its that quiet.

Check out Onebaddj on youtube or go to talon tunes website and scroll down to the gen 6 shroud review.

Are you looking at a Condor or Condor SS? I am asking because I am looking at bumping up to a comdor ss in 25 with a 14 in shroud but need to do some research. I want the 24 inch barrel also but the ss is only 18. That has me rethinking my game on what I want to do just a little.

Well hope this helps.

Thanks, I looked on my pc for the 14″ shroud I found it finally lol! Now I feel like a derp didn’t see it on my tablet that’s why I posted lol. I’ll definitely send him an email and see what his recommendation is before I buy the condor.

Antdawg , So you are planing on a .25 Condor and you want the quietest LDC . Forget the 6″ , the longer the LDC the better the noise
reduction . The 9″ will work better than the 6″ . Tony does make a 14″ which may work better than the 9″ . PM Tony Annuzzi and ask
him what would be the best size LDC to go with for the applications that you wish to use for your gun . Hope this info maybe helpfull .
