Q:

Which TalonTunes items can be installed yourself?

I’m not going to go through why. I’ve done that with both Tony and Wok. Wok was extremely helpful.

So far I’ve ordered the vented bushings and a hammer for my condor from Tony. Also going to order a hammer for my Talon if it’ll make a difference on CO2.

I’ve got all the WOKcessories and another set on order.

But what of Tony’s can I get that I can install myself?

Everything isn’t my OCD, so no need to justify it.

I was just surprised that was the ‘tape’. The newspaper made sense. 🙂

The only negative thing I can say about Wok is his packing. Newspaper (OK) and a zillion US mail stickers. 🙂

(and I can take jokes about my OCD.. that’s cool if in good fun. 🙂 )

Newspaper is almost sterile, it is heated to 130* and helps kill and prevent germs so that helps 😀

and the mail stickers are because those dumb boxes will pop open before I can get packaging tape on them….lol

Heck if you soak anything in Denatured Alcohol long enough it will be clean.

i give everything a wipe down with denatured alcohol before sending out.

As far as FPE on the wallet.

Let’s face it, a Condor isn’t $600. Add a scope $200 for the higher end SWAT Leapers. Rings and level and rail for UTG bipod, $100. $110 to Wok (a MUST) $175 to Tony (so far), $200 for a proper pelican case. $80 for a regulator. $200 for a scuba tank. It ands up quick, but without the Wok and TT work, you’re looking at the same price for almost any PCP on top of the base.

I mean, I could have bought a REAL PS-90 for that price. 🙂

You could look at a FX revolution which is 1500 barebones or a high end AR-15 which is 1500 with no optics ammo or anything. The base price is just that the price you start at.

Fair play. Anything Wok sends to me always gets handled with gloves and then given a bloody good wash before I touch it. :thumb:

Ou could do one of his modded barrels, his trigger shoe, If you have him do a slap mod on that hammer that will get done when you put it in, have him mod one of your tanks and all you do is spin it on, btw his tank mods will make your shots more consistent, most everything else you need to leave to him to do. If you can have him work on the trigger to smooth it out.

There are ‘special’ circumstances that I’ve got do deal with. I have a handicap and I can’t send items out for work. (I have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, so I send it to him, I can’t use it again).

If I can’t wash it, and put it in myself, I’m screwed. Wok’s stuff and the bushings and hammer I’ve bought from Tony I know I can wash, oil, clean and use.

He and I have had a back and forth on the shroud. It isn’t openable, and he doesn’t feel it’s washable, but Adam is of the mind that it was. I was trying to convince Tony that maybe I could just seal one end myself, but that was before I bought stuff so he didn’t know I wasn’t just bugging him.

I understand the mechanics of the gun, and some of that he’s doing to it. But some things I just don’t know. Can I put in the hammer slap? Dunno. I dunno if I can put in the new air valve for the air tank, without it getting ported. I doubt the tank should be washed out if I got a new one.

I’m likely to just take a chance on his shroud and Adam’s suggestions on cleaning. If it is just delrin and spacers and I can fill it with water, wash it, dry it inside and maybe spray in some inhibitor of some sort, then great. If I fail, I fail and I’m back to making my own and printing different possible air dispersal items using a 3D printer. A suck approach.

Especially since I’ve already decided and sourced the shop to do the shroud the way I want (and the tube out of Titanium – way overkill).

I’ve had a Talon SS for years 80 Grit, just aside from buying all Wok’s stuff, never done mod’s to it.

I was going to just convert it to air and .22, but then looked at what that was going to cost vs a new Talon SS (with spin lock) and it didn’t make sense (or rather, I could justify it to myself, I don’t have to justify it to anyone else – she just hates all guns, so it doesn’t matter 🙂

Instead went with a Condor. But I can’t deal with the noise.

So if I have to take the barrel out to put in one of Tony’s vented pushing’s, I thought I might as well put the hammer in too.

I know this is well within my skill set. And not stretching it. 🙂

all depends on your skill, free time, and the “fpe” of your wallet.

putting a heavy hammer on co2 may only waste gas. Once you get to know these rifles you can play around with different hammer weights on your talon in co2 to find the perfect balance between max power and good shot count.
