Q:

Which way does the shroud baffle funnel point ?

When adding baffles in a shroud that are funnel shaped do you point the small end toward the breech to carve away air flow or away from the breech to volumize the air flow ?
Does one direction cause higher frequency sounds ?
If pointed away from the breech, is there a chance the air flow will pass the pellet before the pellet enters the next baffle ?

I have 2 springs about 3 inches each stacked to hold pressure against the lot. It is cheap and may work, else I’ll just throw in the towel and buy a TT Shroud and be whisper quiet.

Can you show a picture of your delrin core and how much quieter did it make the shroud ?

Don’t be surprised if you hear a metallic “clink” or ping-like sound when you fire the gun.

Are those press fit into the extender, held by springs, or… ? What is keeping them in place?

Press fit works for a little while, then they start to slide apart. I made something similar a few years ago, was pretty good at quieting down the gun. After a while about half of them got tilted and jammed in the tube pretty tight. The spacers rattled around until the whole thing sunk in the river. (I tossed the POS) 😉

A setscrew or glue would have helped LOL.

A machined solid core (mine is delrin, so no metallic noise) is the most trouble-free and works as good as anything IMO.

I never saw that :twak:

Half Wit…are you blind???

That can’t work…the brass ones are not in line with the sliver ones, plus they stick up too far and won’t fit in the barrel!

Honestly….some people!

Well I worked out something for inside my Frame Extender.

NOTE: I don’t believe this design will ever be as effective as the Talon Tunes moderator by Tony.

I used automotive expansion plugs and hammered the lead one into a diffractor and the others into reflex baffles and separated them slightly with rings to allow some more expansion room. I’ll let you know how much it quiets the Frame Extender.

This is probably something that might equal the R&L Shroud.

+1

From all the pics I’ve seen, the pointed end definitely is towards the breech.

I don’t for sure, but I believe from what I’ve seen and what makes sense to me is to have the point towards the breech. Like you said, to carve the air away.
