Q:

Which would be a better starting point for tuning?

A heavier hammer(70 grams) in my stock .177 Talon, PW 0 & fill pressure(2600-2800) or should I keep stock hammer weight, PW 0, Top hat high, fill pressure @ 2400? Which would be a better starting point for tuning? I want to shoot 10.5 CPHP @ 900 fps up to around 930 & back down again over a 50- 60 shot string. Then set PW to 2 or 3 when I shoot Eun Jins.

Thanks

I’ve read on other threads were guys put a Talon tank on a Condor & got a ton of shots @ low fill pressures. The condor has a Talon hammer plus an extra weight which in total = 75 grams, right? They said 75 was a bit much & no matter what fill pressure they couldn’t on the front side a the curve so I thought about a 65 or 70 gram hammer might do the trick. In tying to save time I wanted to try & see what everyone thought. i.e. is it worth the effort.

Thanks

you are right, it’s not worth the effort…..

I plan using 16 gr Eun Jins, which is heavy for .177.

Thanks

can’t see any reason for a hammer weight in a .177 esp of 70 grams…

so set the gun up from stock and see what it will do. Fill to about your empty pressure say 1500psi, shoot a shot at PW 0 and PW max then fill to 2000 repeat, fill to 2500 repeat.

See if a pattern appears.
Shoot it down from that pressure and chart your results.

Good luck

Walter….
