Whisper
I have a whisper with the nitro piston from Pyramyd,It’s not tuned, but just a THUNK , when I shoot. Can I make a talon ss just as quiet with the 12″, or am I just dreaming ?

I shoot Kodiak 10.6gn at PW 4.1 with. Its not silent; about the same as a magnum springer. My neighbor said it sounded fine from 30 feet.
For super quiet plinking etc. start with a lower fill pressure. Try 1500psi which is about the point where by heavy pellets loose performance.
Each tank and gun is a little different. I balanced my PW setting by judging how much air is wasted by the sound the gun made. I also used a phone book as a cheap chronograph to judge absolute energy. For example: shoot your whisper into a book and then your TSS. Find the quietest point on the PW with the same or better penetration. Its not scientific but it gives you a baseline.
I’m gonna use it on squirrels and was wondering if those haircurler things worked.If I can get the sound down and take out varmints, I can sell my whisper to my brother so he can have fun at his house and I get $$ for more talon toys 😀 BTW where should I set the power wheel ? Heavy pellets .177.
I also have a whisperer. I got a condor 2 months ago. It is loud when using the 24″ barrel on full power, but the 12″ barrel is quieter than the whisperer.
When I am target shooting, I like using the micrometer tank. Accuracy is still good, you get about 90 shots, and it is much quieter. It is less powerful, but you don’t need the power for targets.

I just did the vented bushing and frame trick on my buddies SS and also added a stack of washers and spring and at 875fps and in the garage it was quiet enough that the pellet strike was much louder than the gun and the birds that were in my neighbors fence didn’t even twitch (the birds arround my house are very gun shy) and my condor with a shroud is even quieter as long as I keep the pellets under 1000 fps.
