White O-Ring that comes out with barrel
Question 1:
I took my barrel out of my TalonP today, to install the R.L. Shroud. There is a white o-ring that the video reminded me to look out for and not lose. I found it. I have it. But my question is, “What is the proper way to get it back in?”
What I did was to place it over the barrel, on the breech end and as I inserted the rear bushing into the frame, just made sure that the o-ring was inside the frame and not pinched.
Then, as I pushed the barrel back into place, I assumed the o-ring would find it’s proper position and seating?
Is that a correct assumption, or should it be inserted some other way, before the barrel is inserted?
Question 2:
Prior to installing the barrel, I never made any power adjustments, so I have no point of comparison. But after reinserting the barrel, I find the power adjustment is very hard to turn, when it gets to the higher power setting. ON the low power end it turns easily, so I know nothing is jammed (i.e. screws, etc). Is it normal to be very hard to turn? I can barely get it past 8, with my fingers. Turns real hard on the high power end.
Question 3:
In the video for installing the R. L. Shroud, it shows a “rubber” washer like object. On my TalonP, it was a white o-ring. Do some have the dark flat washer and others have the white o-ring? Or, did I miss that flat washer thingie. 🙂 Whenever I see instruction videos and don’t see what the video says to look for, I wonder if I missed something. 😉

I just took the TalonP apart again to look for that elusive washer. I’m satisified it’s not there. 🙂 I removed the barrel and the power wheel, spring and bushing. Nothing there but a white o-ring on each side of the power wheel. No think rubber washer. I guess either they don’t put them in the TalonP or mine came without one. I know I didn’t lose it. 😉
But, it gave me a great opportunity to tear it apart a few times. Gun shoots great. Accuracy not affected. Got my scuba tank topped off today and going out to do some shooting tomorrow. I’m a firearms guy but I find air rifles are a hoot and perfect for inside the house, during bad weather.

I’ve got some domed 27.8 Benjamin and some H&N Barracuda 31.02 and two kinds of Eun Jim 43.2 and 35.8.
I need to find out for sure if I’m missing the washer or if the TalonP just has the o-ring only. I’ll call airforce if I don’t find out before Mon.
I also have a Condor S with .22 and .25 barrels.
Glad that worked out for you Mike! I think ( not really sure) that the only purpose of the rubber washer is to keep lead dust out of the power wheel assy. I may be wrong though! Happy shooting!

What .25 lead are you planning to shoot? JSB’s seem to be the all around favorite! My .25 loves them!
That’s what I did. I just took it apart and checked and the white o-ring is snugly up against the power wheel. Looks like it’s where it belongs. No damage.

I do NOT have any thin rubber washer. I saw that in the video but it doesn’t seem to be in my talonP. Maybe that gun is different. All I have is the o-ring. I checked all around the area where I disassembled it the first time and there isn’t any there either. So it appears I don’t have one.
Anyone else reading this have a TalonP. Do you have the washer and the o-ring. OR just the o-ring.
I checked the wheel again and it seems to turn ok now. Go figure. Maybe I was just in wimp mode last time I tried it. Gun shoots great. Not as silent as I wanted (i.e. not backyard friendly) but very noticeably lower sound.
Just slide it on the barrel up against the first bushing. Then push the barrel in the frame making sure the other ring gets in frame as the bushing get close to the frame.
I would take it all apart again and start over.
1. Remove fore grip
2. Remove small (plastic, be careful not to strip) screw from power wheel ( slot in side of frame)
3. Remove 4 grub screws that hold barrel bushings to frame ( they are two different lengths. Short ones in side of frame and longer ones in the bottom)
Now slide EVERYTHING out except the hammer, not ness to remove!
Lay it all out on a table!
You should have, FROM THE MUZZLE END of the barrel;
1. Front bushing
2. Inner bushing
3. Thin rubber washer
4. White “o” ring
5. Power wheel
6. Power wheel collar (with hole for small plastic screw)
7. Second white “o” ring
8. Hammer spring
Assemble it all onto the barrel and slide it all into the frame as one unit.
It will be a little easier to assemble if you screw the power wheel almost all the way onto the collar while assembling.

When I removed the barrel, I made no attempt to remove the power wheel. Should I have? The instructions for installing the shroud didn’t mention removing the power wheel. I sure hope I haven’t damaged that o-ring. Is it used to seal or is it just a friction point.
That being the case, I would only see one of those o-rings right. The one on the muzzle end of the power wheel.
But installing it is confusing. No instructions whatsoever. Does installing that o-ring require removing the power wheel?
Not sure about the Talon P! I never took one of them apart. I’m sure the internals assemble the same as my Talon. There should be (2) of those white plastic “o” rings. They act as bushings on each end of the power wheel. One on the breech end ( where the spring rides on the power wheel collar) and one on the muzzle end.if they are not properly installed this is most likely causing the muzzle end of the hammer spring to bind in the power wheel collar when you turn the wheel.
The flat,thin rubber washer goes on the breech side it the rear most (closest to the power wheel) barrel mounting bushing.
If you can’t get it worked out, take ti back apart and lay out the pieces ( in the order that you tried to install them) and post a picture. We’ll get you back together!

I know they use to put that rubber washer but not sure if they still do.
I don’t put one in any gun I build though.
