Q:

Who has this???

http://www.shopbushnell.com/detail/BSN+654305MD Seems DAMN expensive! BUT if a person could use this for every gun they own…..Might be able to justify such an outlay. From what I’ve learned so far, it seems like you get what you pay for in glass. What do you guys think? Happy New Year!!!!

Thanks Man. That 4.5X30X50 sure looks killer. Killer price too.

quote SAVAGESAM:

Mistman is yours a side focus?

It is a Side Focus, goes down right upto 10 yards.

Just a note : I’ve had the Leapers in higher mag.
And the Bushnell at 8x would do what a lepers does at 16X.
Clarity is way higher in Bushnell. You get what you pay for.

Coming to the 100 yards groups we were trying with this scope.
We were shooting one inch targets.

At higher mags off hand shooting just gets very tough.
So you ought to take the shot with a bipod or a rest.

If that is the case and you would want to pop the eyes out at 100 yards(1/4th of an inch), I would go for the higher mag than 16x. Would get a 24x scope or the 30x scopes.

It not that it cant be achieved with 16x, but if I was looking to meet your requirements, would go in for the 24x/30x.

Sam that’s ok because you do own an elite. Mistman thanks a lot. I know all glass isn’t the same, is it true for mag. too? In other words is 16X 16X even for the cheaper scopes (I’m borrowing my Friends 4X16X50 A.F. scope) And I feel like I could use A LOT MORE mag. at 100 yards. I want to be able to really zoom in on those eyes. Again thanks guys, please keep it coming. Mistman is yours a side focus?

I have this model and love it every bit.

Don’t think I would ever be looking for more.

Not that there aren’t better optics.

Clarity is top notch, and the best part is the flexibility to get it down to 2.5 X

I wouldn’t say the plastic clicks are great but they do a good job, if you were to adjust them for every distant shot, you might skip a click or two.

I just learn the trajectory chart post zero and never fool around with the clicks. Its been like 6 months of use and they have done a great job so far….

If you are looking at better clarity at dusk dawn, especially those critters that you take down with the glimpse of the street lamp, the crosshairs get lost, so I would look at light source mounting options to do a good job in the night.

Anything above 60 lumens and its like a polished glass you’re looking through.

I have lost many rats cauz I just couldn’t figure where the cross hair were in the night with the street lamps.

So for dusk and dawn Its just like another 4200 Elite series scope.
For the Day too I would rate them close, but the edge factor would be the 2.5x for hunting critters, especially when you have the Scope Centre 3 inches high on the Condor.

It light weight compared to its competitors, and lacks the flip up covers which you would have to source for yourself.

You will need Butlers Creek Eye 17 / Obj 30 if you intend to buy this Model.

Another scope which I truly liked was the

Hawke SideWinder 30 Tactical Series 6.5-20×42 (1/2 Mil Dot 20x)

the 20x Mil Dot illuminated reticle is awesome and can do true wonders when you want
to pop those night critters.

Day clarity is great and I didn’t find the edges to be milky like the MTC Optics at higher Mags.

The reason why the Hawke had to go was due to its weight and durability (Made in China). I could be wrong.

My Elite 6200 has the japanese manufacture.

Let me know if you need any more info and I shall share it to the best of my knowledge.

Ooops ! I don’t own one. 😳

Sam.

Thanks Sam. I should of been more specific. I meant who of us has it?

SWFA : http://swfa.com/Bushnell-45-30×50-Elite-6500-30mm-Rifle-Scope-P10931.aspx $899.95

Bear Basin : http://www.bearbasin.com/bushnell-rifle-scopes.htm $799.95

Optics Planet : http://www.opticsplanet.net/bushnell-elite-6500-4-5-30×50-riflescope.html $729.99

Mid priced scope, I think it would be a good investment. With quick release mounts could be used with more than one rifle. A bit more magnification than I would ever use, but if you varmint hunt, would be ok. No questions ask refund or exchange for one year with lifetime warranty.

If you don’t like it return for a full refund 😯

Sam 😎
