Airhog uses the co2 adapter also but they do some modding on
the co2 adapter to increase flow…

Chances are they are just making small hole bigger in the adapter.

My talon shoot really well with out a regulator and it is nice not having the headaches that regs cause. 1 speck of dust or debris in a reg and you are screwed.

Tried Air Arms, they won’t let their regs go on their own unfortunately. They also use spring-washers in theirs. They tried the other way (multiple air-ways and suchlike high compexity) but they didn’t work very well.

Langnasen, I am using an AF co2 adapter that screws to the reg….
I don’t see any concerns about the aluminum body but I am not an
HPA expert by any means…
To bad about AA…That would be sweet to get one of thiers….I need
more info on washer setup for output psi though….
I reconfigured washers this morning and got 1,050 FPS at one point
but my SD went to crap….I THINK, I have 2 variables to deal with
as far as consitancy goes..1 is the reg and the other is the co2
adapter air valve…Seems this one is much harder to compress
than the last one I had…Still tinkering but not satisfied with the
results yet….

Wore one JDSairman reg out testing and tinkering with it…Just got 2 more in the mail today…..

I pulled them apart.. One was 1,250psi and the other was
2,000psi….
I did some figuring and calculations and figured how many washers
and what orientation they should be set at for 1,800-1,850psi output…
I figured that would give me 850’s with JSB 15.9…Well the
calculations worked and so did the regulator…..I seriously think
that my inconstistant FPS problem before was the AF co2 adapter..
I have had 2 of those break a valve spring…

Here are some test results…..

PW 7/7 JSB 15.9gr
L 844 FPS
H 860 FPS
A 850 FPS
ES 16.48 FPS
SD 3.81 FPS

PW 7/7 JSB 18.1gr
L 813 FPS
H 828 FPS
A 820 FPS
ES 15.9 FPS
SD 4.0 FPS
Looks pretty good so far..I put it on the targets today and the
groups were tighter than my 1,400psi output reg but still not tight.
1″ at best at 65yds.. I think 850FPS is right on the edge where the
15.9gr becomes stable..I and going to try for 950FPS and see how
that groups….I got a total of about 60 shots I think before
it dropped off. I will check the shot count again tomorrow….Refill
valve clicked at 1,800psi on the nose when I refilled the tank so
that gives me a good indication of the reg output….I am going to
test the 2,000psi reg tomorrow…Brad is sending me a Blodnob that
will replace the stock AF valve on the co2 adapter. And tagdagger
is replacing the spring on my other adapter with a better spring..
Thanks again tagdagger..Hope that one of these mods will
squeeze some more consistancey out of it….

I’ve seen 950fps from as low as 1600psi with 21-grain Mags out of my valve, so I don’t think it’s the psi holding you back. The numbers were jumping around a fair bit at 1600psi though. At 2000psi I still get very good consistency around 950fps. I’m seriously tempted to try one of those regs. I’m also thinking about popping down to the Air Arms factory and seeing if I can’t beg borrow or buy one of their regs and having a go at fitting it.

They are pretty common actually. We had some posts about them awhile back.

Mamcrackin bought one, sent it back and had a few problems.

I don’t use them with my CO2 gun because you can buy them from a paintball retailer for a lot less.
