You have been there long enough to know the answer to that.

I have been to other places that my security clearance does not allow me to mention, yet, I honestly do have more questions than answers.. and this includes PI.
BTW, it was me who introduced the EDGUN to the guy who now is the dealer. He did not know what the Edgun was.
lol
Huh?

I was asking a few places…Spain and in Phillipine as well.
Phillipine
“The reason is tax 40% and FEDex freight cost each gun cost 300 euros.
Hoping for your kind understanding.
Thanks, xxx ”
Spain is about $2200.
Oh wow!! I just got back from the Philippines! I couldn’t find any Edguns there. They do however have FX. From what I heard, .25 are not allowed in airguns there. Where did you go in the P.I.??

You guys are missing the point, you have to grease palms to get things in the PH and that raises the price of the commodity.

Any imports pay +50% Tax PLUS 50% of S&H…
Brand New EdGun Matador….1950.- u$s
S&H…………………120.- u$s
Sub-Total…………2070.- u$s
TAX ……………… 1035.- u$s
Total Spend…….. 3105.- u$s
Same thing with guns buyed in Europe (€)
Used EdGun 2150€ there etc. etc. etc…
from Buenos Aires, Argentina… a very “rich” country, with THE PROSPEROUS PRESIDENT IN AMERICA… 🙄
Exchange rates possibly? In the Philippines 1 USD is equal to 41 PHP’s. When you say $3800 is it really 155,800 PHP (which is $3800 USD)?
Import fees, paperwork fees? Is it leaving a VAT country without an exemption?
Is it an EdGun dealer or a third party seller?
Shit the price of an EdGun from a third party seller went from $1900 to anywhere between $2100-$3000 once it enters the USA (and that has nothing to do with exchange rates or import fees). 😯 😆
there may be due to import tax or custom tax plus dealer mark up.
, people can not afford them, 3850 is a lot of money.
people who can, 3850 is pocket change for them.

Dave,

I guess the importer/retailer knows his local market and have assigned a price tag accordingly…….. 😉
As in a lot of other places around the world, – there is a huge difference between the few that are frightfully rich and those less fortunate….
“Perceived quality” (snob value) has often to do with price. If you want to signal “top of the tops”, – you wouldn’t put a low price on it…..
And yes, – they do have oil too……… 😉
