Wok Spartan Pictures+Review

I received my Wok Spartan yesterday and all I can say is “I wish AF shipped this as standard”. If you got some cash – PM Adam and get one of these. You won’t regret it.

It improves my cheek weld far more than I expected. It turns my gun into a traditional rifle. It’s almost as comfortable as a regular stock but without the weight. It improves stability and sight picture as you have a better anchor on your shoulder.

I made two improvements… Some friction tape to the tank mount to prevent it rotating and 3M rubber tape to the shoulder so that it doesn’t slip. I used a heat gun and screw driver to “press” the folds top and bottom.

dang…some really good ideas…

here is what i did with my WOKBUT i removed the rubber foam padding from the stock butt plate and attached it to my WOKBUT. i had to trim the edges with an exacto knife

Thats a good idea.

Another idea is to us that PlastiDip stuff to give it a rubber coating. I did that to my personal wokbutt so it would not chip the finish when in the dirt. I just dipped the last inch to give it some protection

Yeah I think it’s ability to get it just right that I like about it!!!

Shoot I think that was the 1st mod I purchased! However with the new tank I just got it came with the strap on version and I have to say I like that better. But I like my spartan too!

The Strap on Wokbutt was my first design. Years ago that damn plastic disc b broke and not matter how I tried to repair it , it always wobbled. So I made the strap on and the rest was history 😀

Hokay, so how do I put the metal disc in? how do I get behind the cover? Once I have an idea how hard it will be I’ll likely send Wok a PM.

I make a 1/4″ aluminum disc with a steel threaded insert to replace that plastic disc for $20.

SS,

I am so glad you like the Spartan. It is a nice little unit and I am happy to make them for those who only want to spend a little.

The Spartan is designed to keep the cost down. It is not as light as the Wokbutt and does not have as many height adjustments. It can be drilled and tapped if you want more adjustment or add a sling stud.

yes,

piece of plastic with the metal anchor in the middle, works ok with the small butt , but when you put the extra leverage to it , it moves around , and will eventually break loose where the metal anchor attaches to the plastic.

it will last a while, but you might want to get a replacement metsl disc for it , so your gun wont be down when it starts to mess up.

Get ready for the plastic piece under the tank cover to loosen up, with the extra leverage that the bigger butt piece puts on the plastic. 🙂

With the friction tape I can see the entire cover move a little when I torque the butt. What’s holding the plastic in place? just the cover?

I too have a Spartan, I like it better than the Wok-But I had on my other TSS..Spartan is just PERFECT !!!

The other hole is to allow different height adjustments… not sure about a swivel stud.

There is a pivot point on the back side which you might be able to rig a sling to. Wok can provide some guidance on strength/stresses.

Looks great. cant wait to try out mine.

One question is that hole on the top of the rest the right size to mount a sling swivel to?

thanks
wade
