About the power off thing, I think that’s a general issue with Gen 1 stuff. After you turn it off, it takes a little bit for the image to go away. Weird, but that’s how it is.
So don’t ever take the lens cap off in light even if the NV is off.
Sorry, I got it but it was defective from the get go, IR would’nt work, it would’nt power off, and was missing the rubber cover for the IR. Seller sent another one, I just posted the pic above as a ref. for the serial # in case the replacement one is the same one and not a replacement. I’ll let you guys know how it works when I get it.

PS: A good IR laser or tac light will extend its range by quite a bit. That Gen 1 stuff can’t pick up starlight well at all, but with a good IR light, or a tac light with an IR filter on it, you can reach out a pretty good distance!
