YIPPPEEEE!!!!!! So I love the gamo hunter 440, must have been before gamo went to shit because it is nice, great open sight backyard hunter and I think its in 22 cal!
I dont have a chrony so I dont know how its working mehanically but…
The 32 cal is def a 32 cal 22 pellet fell right through.
The blueing is really gone almost just some left which Im worried about but the scope is nice!!! Real positive clicks good glass I enjoy it, goes down to 7 yards to!
Btw I shit myself when I got it out I just felt the trigger and BAAAAAM FUUUUUUUUUUC someone cocked it! Ugh.
But I have little knowledge of pcps, dont have a chrony and want this thing back in shape so Im looking for someone to go through, figga out where its shooting etc etc. Also does anyone in the airgun world do blueing? Like actually approved full setup and knows airguns? But thats after fiqure out power shots etc, which like I said, need someone to do.
Lastly what would you guys reccomend I try in the gamo hunter 440.
It is in 22 cal and made in 1992.

Ive been talking to Jack and he seems like I nice guy. This gun is getting upgraded though, first its off to Haley, then to WIll piatt.
I also want to put a new stock on it, and know of richards microfit, and boyds. But then I would have to inlet it, and finish it.
If I decide to do it myself, need some info. And I guess it doesnt really make sense to order a unfinished uniletted stock, for someone else to finish lol.
Richards inlets for the QB’s…. same inletting for Jacks gun unless that one happens to have a 1 inch tube, which I dont think it does… even so… if it does, simply buy a $15 stock bedding tool and spend about 10 minutes with it and your gun will drop right in the QB inletted stock.

Yep… which is why I’m thinking this is one of Jacks lower powered big bores. The big hods use that separate cocking knob for the much heavier hammer spring.

I know Cecil got this gun from Mike Daniels, but I cant find anything about him so idk.
That stock would have been made for a QB style gun that has a separate cocking knob in a slot in the main air tube used just to cock the hammer. Meaning that is might not be the original stock…
Alright Jack said he would do a general go through make sure everything is a ok, and a power upgrade.
I have a question though, where can I get one of those nice big bolt handles for this gun?
One more thing anyone know why the stock was cut?
Look at the second and 4th pics there is a cut by the action/bolt where piece is just missing?

Any help you might need or questions regarding the 32 cal gun just ask me. I’ll help you as much as i can. Depending on the power, and as that little WHITE sticker indicates buy saying .310, your gun just might be best with .310 Round Balls by Hornady.
yep…. I dun did ferget tat the last time I towr down the qb….. now I gots me a nice sanded and polishished bolt handle
Easy enough. QB bolts are easy to replace. Behind the endcap is a small allen head… loosen that and your bolt will pull right out. It doesnt screw in like a DAQ or Crosman, but rather is held in place by that small screw in an indent in the bolt.
One other thing, I always see large bolts on the big bores, with coated handles. Could I fit one of those on here?

And because I got rid of the pump and airtanks arent in my possesion yet!!! Lol Im going to die of suffering not being able to shoot these.
My next purchase is a fill setup, then a scope for the mrod. THen .177 pellets for the gamo then a chrony (maybe) first is the gun getting a look over.
There was several guns cocked there… probably the same jackass who was running around dry firing everything.
I also noticed that the Cyclone had pellets in the magazine and with everyone cocking it, it was jammed all to hell with several pellets in the bore to the point where the bolt wouldnt close.
Far as the Gamo… you’re just going to have to try different pellets…. the Gamo 220/440/890/shadow all share the same powerplant, just different furniture. I’ve seen guns of the same make prefer different pellets… just because a certain pellet works well in one (even the same model) it may not in another.
For bluing, contact Paul Watts at springunning… but know that you’ll pay near as much for the bluing as you did for the gun.
Rather than ship that Haley gun out…. why dont you simply shoot it at varying ranges and see the drop… will give you an idea of what you got there anyway.
With the short tube, I’m going to guess around 100fpe for 3-4 shots… then dropping like a brick after that. Your next purchase needs to be a chrony!
The two devices that keeps airgunners honest most are a chrony, where folks find out their ‘1000fps’ gun shoots closer to 750fps…. and a rangefinder… where folks find their ‘dime sized 50 yard groups’ are closer to 30 yards!
