Hey guys!
Ive a question on how to calculate the air volume needed for one shot. Lets assume I wanna get 60J (44flb) with a .22. From what Ive got through reading through a few threads Id need a reg chamber size of about 22ccm or larger. Reg pressure should be around 130bar-140bar. So how the heck can I calculate
1. the air volume needed per shot (im guessing something around 600ccm),
2. the optimum air volume of the reg chamber and
3. the the reg pressure (keeping the pressure low seems to be the key to more shots).
4. Also what sort of efficiency should I expect to see? (Im talking about a design with tank beneath the barrel, so with a transfer port!)
5. Is it useful to make the diameter of the transfer port as large as possible to optimize the airflow or is it limited in some way?
6. Also is it better to use a lighter or rather a heavier hammer for opening the valve? It seems logic that heavier hammer keeps the valve open longer which allows more air to get out of the reg.
I wanna start drawing a complete rifle in CAD, but without knowing at least most of the parameters its pointless to start! I just started to concentrate on PCPs a few weeks ago, so far Ive only been tuning springers where theres a lot less to consider it seems.
I know so many questions, but for the experts in here it shouldnt be much of a challange!
