zeroing= hair loss!!
Well good evening(depending on your time zone??)
Im from the uk so please dont hold that agasnt me! i,ve just got my first Storm, i beleive its the same as the Talon 18″. my headache is this. i cant not for love nor money get my rifle to zero.
So far i,ve fully stripped it and corrected some minor finish issues, cleaned and fully relubed, rebult and made sure everything is tight and as it should be. now it,ll give me lovely groups @40 yards however after five shoots or so the POI will change and start grouping there. I,m pulling my hair out at the moment so any help you guys can give would be fantastic.

WTF? Is that a nickname or something for Beeman? Don’t see no ‘Bisley’ on the tin or anything… never heard that term…but as I said, I just may be out of the loop lol. And I thought Kodiaks were 21.1 gr? Maybe I should go back to pellet school… 😳

I guess I could be out of the loop in the pellet world, but I’ve never even heard of those pellets, except maybe the Accu-pells. This certainly doesn’t mean they can’t work in your gun, but you really should try Kodiaks, JSB’s, Crosman Premiers, for starters, just to see what you’re results are then. While even two of the same guns may like different pellets, these are probably the top 3 brands that AF guns like the most…generaly speaking, give them a try. Kodiaks are my personal fave, because my gun loves the taste of them.
Those oring should be the same. Maybe one is letting a little blow by occur and screwing up your accuracy.
Also check your crown with a qtip and make sure there are no burrs
Hi guys, thanks again for all the info so far been lots of help, I,ve once again stripped the rifle down for another check, re-lubed and rebuilt, as a result i noticed the O-rings on the breech slide are different sizes is this correct?
once i rebuilt it i clamped it as suggested and once again the same problem occured. i switched to a lighter round (14.3grs Accu-pell, was using 21.3grs bisley, also tried 17.0grs Dynamis TS2) and the groups tightened up. Its better but still not right so looks like im heading in the right direction hopefully.
If any knows about the O-rings that would be a great help, could this be a cause of my problems?

I added an 18″ barrel to one of mine. In the beginning, I was getting really pissed at it as it would not group worth a damn. Finally after running a couple hundred pellets through it, it settled down and now cuts the same hole out to 50 yds.
You didn’t say which way, if any, the POI tends to shift. Is the shft repeating itself?
Other than that, I note that you mention that you cleaned and lubed the gun. My understanding is that AF guns don’t take kindly to petro-or solvent based lubes and cleaners… if that’s the type you used, maybe that’s something to look at? Check your o-rings for proper fit and function and lube them with silicone.
Are you shooting the same pressures?
If possible, I would clamp in a vise..like one mounted to a work bench so you know nothing would move at all…then try the shots, I had this problem with a ruger mini 14..I called Ruger and told them how sorry their guns were, called Tasco and told them how sorry their scopes were, called remington and told them how sorry their ammo was..come to find out it was the brand new b-square mount than was moving with each shot, (side mount style)..The vise will take any human error out.. 😉
If i reading your post correctly, are getting good groups, they just tend to form at unexpected places.
If you are sure of the mechanical being correct, that pretty well just leaves the biologic factors.
A little bit like springers, if i change my grip or the way it’s bedded, expect to find my shots landing in an unexpected direction.
True, sounds like a scope issue but if you’ve switched scopes, I’d suggest trying a variety of different pellets next. I’m hooked on the 21gr Kodiaks and know from experience that some such as Benjamin or RWS literally made my gun not hit the side of a barn.

It kind of sounds like a scope thing to me, if you have another switch them out and see if it still happens. could be a bad scope not holding.
