I don&#8217;t think Skans are regulated and mine definitely has a sweet spot. If you fill to about 170 bar test your ME again and you may find it nearer to 12 fpe.<br />
When I first got mine I filled to 200 bar and got around 10 fpe, lowering the fill level a bit found the sweet spot and I get around 70 shots ( 2 mags+) before it drops off.<br />

I read an old article saying that barrel wear was vastly reduced and cleaning was easier. I use Bushnell scopes and Nikko Sterling. </p>

British rifles also have &#8220;anti tamper&#8221; parts so that it is now difficult to strip and work on them , any tinkering invalidates the warranty. 									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I have had/ used lots of different scopes. I find that the 30mm tube type to be over-heavy for use with air rifles. It&#8217;s better to spend a bit more on good quality 1&#8243; tubed optics than waste it on over featured cheap end stuff.<br />

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Or Simmons, the Phillipines models not Chinese. ACOG not suitable in my opinion, they are made to aim at man sized quarry and the reticles are suited for military ammo, I believe. Mil dots are very useable for airgun ranges.<br />

This has a 32 shot double stack rotary magazine.</p>

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The gas ram SLR has a different feel to the recoil which you either like or don&#8217;t.I prefer it to a coil spring driven action,it imparts no torque to the rifle as it works,so it feels more positive,more like a well tuned springer.It also needs no maintenance other than a wipe over with an oily cloth after use.<br />

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I have a TX200 and a SLR 98 that you mentioned.Of the two the SLR is more consistent and accurate.However you may find that the cheaper Air Arms ,once tuned ,can compete on  accuracy.The SLR would need the single shot tray instead of the seven shot mag to be competition legal over here in the UK,so I assume it&#8217;s the same with you.<br />
