									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It actually won&#8217;t be in a tube. just stick out at the back. The BSP hole at the back is for gas input from a large tank. designed so the tank isn&#8217;t inline with the gun.</p>

<p>What other material can I use besides stainless guys?</p>

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>i&#8217;d go 75% &#8211; 80% comrpession on the orings in this application. So 1mm dia o-ring means a groove 0.8mm deep. I&#8217;d give 1.2mm for the width.</p>

<p>Stainless 316 insanely hard to machine.. (for me at this stage).</p>

<p>the valve volume is around 0.5 cu inches BUT is a bullpuped one that is connected (8mm dia port x 2) to a separate discharge tube with around 2Cu inches of volume</p>

<p>Regarding the solenoid forces, be assured there will be enought force.  😛 </p>
<p>the solenoid i chose for those designs are 26mm max stroke. and i&#8217;m using 20mm of it&#8217;s stroke (5mm nominal with 100 Newtons of force at 15% B field gap). starting with a lower force of about 10N. </p>

 for the bolt needing to be detained. I might have not made it clear, but the bolt has set screws clamping it to the solenoid pin. the solenoid pin it self is detained by the solenoid body, which has additional shock absorbing assembly inside</p>

<p>the problem i had with the design is that the hammer is actually centred around the stem to be struck (hole in middle) and a solenoid cannot have a hole in its middle, and will have to be offest?</p>
