I went with ELDY pest bird hunting yesterday. I can be a witness that even at relatively low fps, his TALON SS with the 67 grain balls absolutely stops pigeons with authority. It punches a clean hole that looks like someone drilled right through the bird.

WHACK!

I can’t remember if we chronied this one or not yet?

Looks like you are putting 60-70ft lbs of force through those birds, but that’s just a guess!

The screw is only on one side, and on the other side is just a hole. Do I just leave the screw alone, and use a rod to turn the valve?

moneyshot, you can have the coupler for $30 shipped.

They both certainly have their place. I like being able to shoot in my yard with my Talon on CO2. It’s quiet, and has enough power for a flat trajectory, but not enough to dent up a cheap pellet trap.

Unless you have a sound meter and compare a PB and airgun SIDE by SIDE, which is “quiter” is just speculation.
I often shoot from the kitchen table, out the sliding double doors, at tweet birds or targets out back. While the wife is sleeping 10ft away on the living room couch.

Mine is, yes. As I stated above, you can hear the hammer hit the firing pin, and then a bullet impact. That is the only noise when using subsonic loads.
