Thanks for sharing. Thanks for the credit notation, and for mentioning the Surefire product made from my molds. I know that the Boyenga boy’s “Car Fund” sincerely appreciates the mention too.

Jerry told me that the current generation of slugs were difficult to cleanly cast, due to the bottom narrow ring. I made a slight design alteration and cut a new mold for myself to test. Shooting one of my carbines at the velocities you’ve discussed, I got these results today.

Hope it’s of interest. I realize it’s not a Condor, but the slugs…Read more

The slug/pellet comparison test I ran is posted @

Best I could do to give an honest display of the “work” the slugs can do, as compared to familiar quality pellets.

Thanks,

Reading your comments, regarding “control” experiments, made me do a comparison of my own. Kodiaks vs. the big 80 grain slug at the same psi and power settings. Kodiaks @ 1,111 fps vs. 80 grn. @ 804 fps. I thought that might be close to the numbers you were discussing.

I don’t want to step on any toes here, so I posted the pics of the tests…Read more

That’s great.

I like the 909’s. Great guns that shoot very well. I recently made a .25 carbine for my wife, and I used the 909 breech design. Simple, straight forward, works very well.

I’ve just read through the new materials on this thread. Hope I didn’t miss the point I wish to make:

Regarding “comparisons” … the only thing that would be relevant would be another slug which is also producing 100 fpe. Punching paper just as well (or better) at 100 yards, will not make a contender in the “big energy” pellet category.
