I have the ball and spring, no problem finding replacements. It&#8217;s a concern the way you have to ping the lip of the hole while holding the ball and spring in place. There must be a tapered sleeve, you cant put a spring and ball in a hole and expect it to stay without a taper or restriction. I think I&#8217;m screwed on fixing this. It still locks up with one ball bearing, but it will fail eventually too. I sent Ed an email hopefully he will answer.</p>

Now I just need someone to tell me how it stays in the hole. I havent tore the gun completely down yet, but I&#8217; m sure it is installed from the top. But now I think the bearing is some how pressed in from the top. If this is the case, the hole the bearing sets in had to become enlarged, so a new ball bearing will fall out too. I finally mastered snapping the bolt shut. Around 1000 shots it started blo back every shot. Thats when I started trying to adjust with no luck. So now I have 48 spare orings and the fix is simple.</p>

If you dont have it just right you cant lock the bolt down forward position. <p>try the nail polish/paint mod on the magazine so it does not happen again</p>

<p>Here is what the cocking rod in my Vulcan 22 (2nd gen) looks like with one of the screws removed.<br />
Both of my screws are identical to each other, M3 1.4 mm long (1.2 mm threaded)</p>
<p>Holes are centered in rod.<br />

Looking at the close up of the picture I can see the head of the screws are different sized. I noticed this when I removed them, but the picture really shows the difference. I thinking the difference in head size my have pot some torque or stress on the weakest point of the rod causing it to snap.<br />

<p>whats the serial numbers of your failed pups and caliber, mines number 61 in .22 running at 11.5 ft lbs, no issues to date with the cocking rod </p>

I can reload 14 pellets in less than 10 seconds, load while the mag is in the breech and see how many pellets are in the magazine without taking it out. I posted here aboit my new Vulcan rod broke at about 56 shots. My replacement has over a thousand with no problems. The rod snapped at those 2 screw holes where it attaches to the probe.</p>

<p>How about the general build quality compared to the Cricket? Fit and finish? Trigger? Stock?</p>
