I saw the program Mythbusters attempting to shoot the length of a scope. Sgt. Carlos Hathcock, a Vietnam sniper, is reported as doing that against another sniper. My grandmother is the one that taught me how to shoot. She stood about 5 foot tall and I would not want to get in a contest with her. But you must remember she grew up when a lot of times you had to shoot your meals or go hungry. I may try the matches and pellet thing when it warms up a bit.

My grandmother could shoot a 22 rifle at strike anywhere matches and light them. Wonder if a pellet could do the same thing? 😀

I also saw the attempt to do this on Myth-busters. I can not dispute the shot in Vietnam because I was not there when the shot was made. But, I could say it could have happened with a lot of luck and a little help from above. 🙄

Sgt. Carlos Hathcock is said to have killed a enemy sniper, in Viet Nam, 😯 while the sniper was looking through his rifle scope.
