I am unable to seat the top hat enough by hand and I consider myself fairly strong. I’ve always had to take the tank out push the top hat into the valve then tap it with a plastic hammer a few times till it seats.

But maybe I’m just a pansy since it’s done it in my talon valve and condor valve….

The pictures are big, sorry. The screw went in easily like it was suppose to. After a few shots I noticed the problem and tried to remove the set screw only to find it had been pressed into the aluminum on one side of the end cap and elongated it’s whole in the shroud.Attachments:

Tony, it literally began to bend the end cap down, wallowing the threaded portion of the frame. I noticed the supplied set screw did not take advantage of all the thread available In the frame. I will buy a longer set screw and see how well that holds. No tank dumps.

Thanks! Good deal on 2 quick detach tanks on ebay but seller was unable to tell me if it was a condor tank or talon tank. And also wouldn’t take pics of top hat for me to determine. I just ordered the parts from airforce and will convert my talon tank to condor specs.

I wish one of our machinists would start producing these. Take a new talon ss with sound loc. later when we add an 18″ barrel, we could buy the empty shroud and part that connects factory shroud with new shroud, then install soundloc baffles. Will save money and be easy to do when swapping barrels.
