I got Peter’s CZub on mine. Endo, helped me identify it. But, it’s half a inch longer than a regular barrel. It’s dead on out to 50 yards. Haven’t taken farther, but I’m very happy with it. I’d like to try another barrel like Listone to see how it shoots. Right now, it’s perfect with Donnie’s LDC and my Athlon 6-24×50.

Thank you! I was to lazy to take the barrel out. I slid it back in from the breech, used a little smooth wooden pick, and rolled it back in the groove between the barrel and brass ring. It’s all good now, but next time it happens, I’ll just pull out the barrel. You have helped me in the past and appreciate it!

After reading your post, I started looking at Athon scopes to upgrade my Vortex Crossfire II 6-18×44. Pull the trigger on an Athlon Argos 6-24 x50. Mounted and zeroed in around 30 yards (end of my backyard). Took it out to 50 yard, man this scope is way better! No buyer’s remorse here. My Mutant Short is dead on from 6×24. I finally took out my barrel to see if I got a CZub or CZ Rep from Peter. Here are some pictures, TP is straight and GS is 180 degrees from TP. There are no dimples on the barrel either. Comparing to the CZub pictures, looks like a CZ Manufacture barrel, just longer? What are your thoughts, thanks.

I’ll need to loosen the barrel band. I cannot unscrew the mod, I believe part of the mod is tightened in the barrel band. But looking at my gap, there couldn’t be much in the band. The stock mod is really quiet, but it would be nice to try out others and would add to the length. Will let you guys know shortly.

Sorry, I missed your post, Thank you! It functions so well that I can live with the longer barrel. The Shroud is still clamped in the barrel band, but I never thought about using a different moderator due to the longer barrel! That is interesting.

Don’t have a Caliper, but it looks approximately 12.5″. What are your thoughts regarding accuracy of the barrel? That’s my main concern. It’s supposed to be CZ.

Here is a picture of my shorty and the 3/4 inch gap from the moderator to the barrel band. Dman, do you think I could move the receiver back far enough to close the gap between the moderator and the barrel band?

On my short with the replacement barrel, I have approximately 3/4 inch gap between the shroud and the barrel band. Is yours similar?

I bought it from Peter. I was just hoping we had some kind of identification as to know what barrel it truly is. I don’t have a scope for it yet, but shot a few pellets through it to make sure it works. I can tell you, it feels way better than my Prod! I’ll let you guy’s know shortly how accurate it is.

Do you see any markings on the CZ to know it’s a CZ? I just got my Short delivered (literally), it’s supposed to have a CZ barrel on it, but can’t tell. I don’t see “Made in Germany” on the barrel either.
