I just have a Gander Mountain store brand soft case for fitting up to a 42″ gun….glad I bought the larger vesion due to the fact my moderator makes it bigger and if I ever go to a Wokbutt custom Adam So. FYI With 177 Eun Jin Korean heavies I hit way under supersonic around 740 fps and get about 20 plus FPE at the muzzle… I take down mid to large sized igunas on a vital shot to ribs or head. The heavies shoot flat to about 44 yards. .22 is more optimal for the larger ones due to wound channel size on non full vital area hits and anchor the game…Read more

I disagree with some of your .177 data at 35-40 yards you metion. Try baracuda 11 gr or kodiacs in this caliber I get 1/4″ groups at rest at 45 yards and have bagged large iguanas with one head shot. My 177 SS likes Baracudas (same as KodiacM), eun jin 16 gr domes, and crossman copper head points. I tried the new Gamo Red fire which are JSB predator clones, which weigh 8 gr and I saw this weekend groups and some flyers…I plan to try JSB preds. soon. I agree with this Walkonian prophecy….The SS with the Don G shroud is ideal for everyday use on small to mid sized game. My buddies condor is awesome but overly powerful and more rapport for my needs….more of a bigger game gun…I think it is best to have both models to balance out your quiver.

the guy was getting 740 to 760 fps, I use kodiacs and probably see mid to high 800’s low 9’s. All I know is that the heavies shoot decently flat to around 40 yads….

Sorry to not answer the second inquiry of yours on your original post…my TSS is 177 and totally stock with no venting, it was recently sent to AF under warranty and they put a new valve and worked it over now it is awesome and perhaps due to proper top hat alignment was quieter with stock endcap than prior to sending it in when it worked…Read more

Good to hear crony on them…I have a few tins and my gun loves them for that ultra smack down. I was expecting a little more speed, but at 20 fpe they pump up the down line power. It would be interesting to know down range fpe on them against the kodiacs which in .177 are the next step down in weight. My TSS loves both.

Talon or TSS is a bad choice for FT due to gun ergonomics. I has talked with Don G prior to order and it seems that as caliber size goes up the need for size for the shroud length also goes up I would say from my experience using a TSS in .177 that the factor goes down by maybe 50-70 percent also depenedent on power wheel level. The only gun that shoot worth a shit in cold weather is the MAc1 LD crosman Mk1 pistol….can shoot as low as 50 degrees without super drastic power drops….QB’s and others forgettttaboooouttt-it.
