With a talonP tank you are done with 10-15 shots, then good luck hunting squirrels with pebbles.</p>
<p>Maybe you want to reconsider your &#8220;survival&#8221; parameters?</p>

<p>it all sounds possible but in my opinion not with a 12in, especially beyond 50yd.<br />
Not that you won&#8217;t be able to get there, but you will likely have a huge drop with the velocities that you get with the 12in.</p>
<p>An 18&#8243; barrel would get you there better, faster and more accurately.<br />
The 24&#8243; would be the best choice.</p>

That is my 2c. If you want to compete, a reg is a great choice.<br />
But you don&#8217;t have to.<br />

<p>Now my setup consists of a TalonP tank with an Altaros Reg and the Extreme valve.<br />
I need to adjust the reg for a lower pressure because right now it is way too hot for my .22</p>

I would also add a regulator to take it to the proper competitive level.</p>

<p>When you tighten the retaining screw again, be careful not to overtighten or you might crush the tophat stem.<br />
There are few tricks to keep the tophat in place including plumber tape on the tophat thread and some light locktite.<br />

<p>Just unload it/shoot it out safely at the end of your hunting day.<br />
I do this for safety, as I prefer having unloaded rifles around the house.</p>

<p>The TT inserts are mounted on the tophat side, not the in the tank.<br />
They just restrict air flow coming out from the tophat.</p>
<p>Is your airgun working? What is the problem?</p>

<p>Unfortunately it is normal though it should not!<br />
This tophat design is a bit flawed.</p>
<p>It is supposed to stay in place and if you screw it too tight you can crush it, or span the thread.<br />
Some have used locktite on the screw thread, or you can use some on the hat thread.<br />
Or some plumber tape sometimes helps on the tophat thread.</p>

<p>Any material with hardness higher than aluminum (frame) will slowly but steadely damage and groove the frame.</p>
<p>Even brass tends to create a fine aluminum mix powder that will start spreading a give a mild abrasion.</p>

I wanted to keep it on the cheap side.</p>
<p>On the second one I made, I shortened the shoulder piece a bit.<br />
The one shown in the pictures was a bit too big.</p>

<p>You are in for a lot of fun but this is not a springer.<br />
Your question cannot be answered universally, but the Talon CAN be tuned to shoot as you like it.</p>

Power will be more adjustable and dependimg on the barrel length.</p>
<p>Shooting is way smoother than a springer for the same power.</p>
<p>Plus if your target size is a beer can, you can shoot that thing at 100yds with proper tuneup and pellets.</p>

If you need to lube use only silicon based divers products that are compatible with HPA.</p>

Also they do not damage o&#8217;rings.<br />
Airguns = HPA</p>
<p>Your FrogLube is designed for firearms and even though it is natural blah blah, it might not be good with HPA cause firearms don&#8217;t use HPA.</p>
