I built a couple of these from sheets of ABS plastic. I made the form and measured the circumference with a fabric tape measure and cut the plastic to size. I then heated the ABS with a hot air gun that is used for stripping paint. Once the plastic began to soften I layed it over the form and shaped it with gloved hands.

Thanks for the info! My gun has about 6,000 rounds through it, so I’m guessing it’s pretty well broken in. You mentioned strange chrony strings. I’m assuming you mean sudden drop in muzzle velocity and then a jump back to the normal string. What do you consider a “normal” chrony string. I’ve noticed a 2-3 fps drop in muzzle velocity per…Read more

Thanks for the excellent input. I have my top hat set to .095 and I lube the bolt o-ring by putting a small amount of silicone grease on the tophat. I am getting some wear on the notch where the bolt lever locks in. How did you modify yours? Do you have a photo?

Finally got the trigger working. I think I tracked the problem down to the metal cylinder that sits behind the horizontal spring that’s at the front of the trigger assembly. There is a groove machined into the cylinder which is slightly offset to the center. I had the cylinder with the thick side facing forward. The gun would fire a few times…Read more

I stumbled on an “adjustable” drooper mount. I mounted a UTG dovetail to picatinny adapter on my Talon to make it easier to swap out scopes. I went from the tall AF dovetail scope rings to med QR on my AF 4-16 scope. That threw everything out of whack. Couldn’t get enough elevation out of the scope. While putzing with the setup I noticed the…Read more
