Thanks for the hint with the tube! That should help in lining things up. And yes, I have the 12 inch barrel which sits in the shroud so it is a bit hard to align. I didn’t like using my dowel on the end of the barrel so will try a tube
next time. Hate to put any pressure on the crown of any barrel like that.

Thanks. I thought something was wrong. Well, I finally got it assembled by pushing the barrel down with a dowel. I guess I must have had the hammer cocked but who knows. It works now but next time I will have to make sure it is not cocked. Still lining up these little holes is a pain. The barrel kept moving on me.

Thanks guys. I have been reading as much as I can on the shrouds. But like anything there are many opinions. I will certainly consider Talon Tunes but it will have to wait for a while. For now I am happy that I got the gun for the 499. I was a bit nervous but it was actually shipped from Airgun Depot. They have a large web site and seem to be…Read more

New Guy here. Have a Marauder and have been watching this forum. Saw the add for the 499 and bought one. It arrived a few days ago. Just put my scope on. First impression, that thing is LOUD!!! What is the expert recommendation on quieting it down? Don’t want to spend tons of money since I just bought the gun for 499 and the scope for 99.
