So I bucked up the funds and mailed off $250 for one of Neil’s 2 piece CF shroud/LDC units today. Had to do something… The cricket just puts out too much energy for me to be comfortable even sighting with neighbors.

How about drilling out the shroud’s end cap to a 1/2″ hole and threading it for a male-male 1/2×20 fitting to match up with a female LDC? The plastic shroud cap should be tough enough to hold threads. Any machinists out there?
