I have the gen 2 and I did the mod with the screw which has the spring ball built into it and have the same issue. I figured out that after you cock the rifle you pull up a little on the stock with it still folded and then pull on the trigger to reset it. Works every time. Not convenient or dangerous either as there is no way it’s going to fire…Read more

Well I just got done testing with the MKII heavies again. I started under 800fps and turned the HST in about a quarter turn and kept checking with the chrony. The highest I ever got was 870 which was just barely backed out from max so I could cock it. I turned it back down about 1/8 of a turn or so and have it back at the 860 I had it at.…Read more

Thanks for the info Tony. That’s about exactly what I was getting. I got about 860 with the heavies but haven’t run the 25gr Kings over the chrony yet since I maxed out the HST. I think I’ve read here on the forum that the reg has been set around 140 or 150, is that right?

Yeah, I’m going to have to play around with mine a bit when I have some time.

Awesome guys, thanks so much for the quick replies. I thought I had worked it up already but now reading Donny’s post I think I did it in too large of increments and probably missed the higher max. I will take another crack at it and see if I can find out where the max really is on the HST. Not sure if I want to mess with the reg so if 860 turns…Read more

Yeah, it wasnt’ easy on any of my Taipan rifles. I had to take the shroud off, put the pins in the end cap, and then secure the pins in a vice while twisting the whole shroud to get it loose.

Yeah, wow, I just installed the same setup tonight on my Mutant Standard. It’s stupid quiet. I thought it was quiet before without the LDC. The hammer hitting the valve is WAY louder than the rapport of the rifle. Crazy. Thanks again Donny, you make an awesome LDC!
