I simply used the left over 3 inch drain hardware from the main pellet trap drain box. That was packed with duct seal to absorb the pellets. A 3 inch diameter piece of corrugated plastic acts as the target surface. <p>I feel for you and the probable scope issue. Really frustrating when a scope isn&#8217;t working correctly. I just had a live target that simply would not go down after five shots. <p>Sounds like a job for a small, left hand drill bit.</p>
<p>BTW, don&#8217;t try to seal that hole by torquing up the little bolt. Use a little piece of teflon tape on the bolt to effect the air seal. Shouldn&#8217;t need any force.</p>

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Mine are cylindrical shaped, VERY soft ones. Compress the foam earplug axially to make it disc shaped. Then use a leather punch to cut the hole. Takes a few passes to get the right diameter. You want it to fit snugly, but not squeezing in between the spring coils.</p>

I foolishly tried some left over Crossman pellets. Those scattered like crazy. Required cleaning the barrel to get the gun back to normal after that. <p>Before returning the gun, I would at least try it with Air Arms Diabolo Field .22 Cal, 5.51mm, 16 Grains, Domed pellets. </p>
<p>Test at 850, 900, 920 FPS. </p>
<p>My Vulcan 22 really likes those.</p>

<p>The fill whip&#8217;s thermoplastic allows eventual seepage of humidity from room air into the system. The SCUBA guys said that might be an issue. After a week of storage, there is change in both 20 and 40% segments. Looks like I need to add at least another valve to isolate the moisture indicator between uses. </p>
