The Plasti Dip coats the surface. It does not penetrate very deep into the foam. But it does reinforce the cut edges, eliminating tearing and crumbling.

The weight is actually deceiving? My wife held the rifle for the first time and thought it was six pounds? It’s a stocky little rifle for sure.
