									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Shaggy, are you sure they are sized right?  I had some slugs I made before I got my sizer that were too big.  They lodge in the barrel most of the time.  After I sized to 457 they don&#8217;t lodge anymore.  I got a custom sizing die and now size them to 456 and my groups tightened up.  Its not meant to fill the rifling grooves.</p>

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I threw out all my old lead and bought new 100% pure lead.  The groups on my texan tightened way up.  Sized to 456.  255 grain HP mold that was a RCBS 325 grain mold cut down and modified for HP.</p>

<p>Light slugs power wheel needs to be tightened towards the tank.  Heavy slugs towards the end of the barrel.</p>

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Are you sure your air pressure is accurate?  I fill using my gauge on my scba tank.  If I was to fill to 3000 on my texan gauge then I would only be at 2800psi.  That may be enough to keep you from getting your numbers.</p>

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Works great.  It has a manual bleed valve at the bottom.  The tank is big though, if you don&#8217;t get a valve shut and have to pressure the dryer tank up when you fill up a tank it can take 10 min to fill them both up again.</p>

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>480 grain slugs may not fit in the Texan.  I tried some  520 grain and 575 grain and they were too long.  I had to roughly cut them down to 420-470 grain with the bandsaw just so they would be short enough to feed.</p>

<p>I think my other problem was I was expecting too many shots before refilling.  I talked to airforce today and they told me to refill after 2 shots each time if Im shooting 300+ grain slugs.  More shots for smaller slugs, possibly 10 accurate shots with roundball.  That makes sense. <p>For larger slugs 350-400 gr dial that power wheel back towards the end of the barrel.  Refill after every 2 shots.  They told me to expect 2 shot groups with the large slugs.  If you are running roundball then dial the wheel all the way towards the breech and you can do 10 shot groups or so.</p>

I was getting up to 530ftlb using a 435 Grain lubed spritzer.  505 ftlb out of my 357 grain FN.  1000fps using 177gr fn.  I had some 500 and 520 grain slugs I wanted to try for the heck of it, but they wouldn&#8217;t fit.</p>
