At higher speeds if not adjusted can sound like a cement mixer with little ill effect Try A Guide to Renovating the Bridgeport 2J Variable Speed Milling Machine. I got it on Ebay.. Look for a manual too for the lube points.</p>

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Nice lathe. Has taper timken bearing headstock so can run at higher rpm for longer with out burning a bearing like a south bend,I have had both. Also much cheaper to rebuild with flat ways. Parts available from Clausing.</p>

You can do fine work on a big lathe but you can&#8217;t do big work on a small lathe. Buy more than you think you will ever need and you will save money and you will be able to do things you can&#8217;t dream of. Have fun .JFW</p>

I used to shoot high power  and dont think the weight will bother me..but we are all getting older. I havent had my hands on one as we have no dealers that I know of in Maryland.</p>
