I went to Home Depot and got a assortment of o rings so don’t really know the size. it doesn’t have to fit the stem exact. Eventually I ended up with rubber washers which are nearby o rings in Home Depot. It’s all about experimenting.

These are the things you will have to mess with. The 700-720 speeds on PW 8 are about right. That’s what I got when I first got my Talon and shot heavies. Too be able to slow them down I put rubber washer behind top hat. On PW 8 I still got to the 700’s and when I drop the PW down to 4 or 5 I…Read more

Yes, it does take a little getting use to. I usually use high scope rings. Which puts scope 3 inches above scope. My most comfortable set up is the airforce tri rail with medium rings , but that puts scope at 3.75 above. Only other option is he Talon tunes tank adapter.

That is what I did the day I got my Talon. all of a sudden I had diarrhea. Had to rush home and try it out.

Some advice. Before you start shooting make sure the top hat is not loose. I didn’t know anything about these rifles when I bought mine and I couldn’t figure out why my velocity was so erratic. The tophat could easily be rotated.

if you got an 18 inch barrel, you could not use the built in suppression in the Talon ss. However since you have the TT shroud, you can still shoot suppressed. The 18 inch barrel will stick out of the Talon ss frame by half and inch or so. So the TT shroud will slide right over it. That is my exact set up. The 6 inch shroud does a good job hushing it up.

Welcome Rev! Congrats on the talon ss.

I also have a talon ss with 6 inch Talon tunes shroud. The shroud combined with the sound lock built into the gun it will be pretty quiet. The sound of the hammer hitting will be louder than actual report. To me it’s slightly louder than my .25 marauder which is setting around 40 ft lbs.

I read over my question and think I used the wrong terminology.
I am talking about the stem rotating inside the valve. Not the top hat rotating on the stem. Sorry! I have been into pcps for 2 years now, This is my first time reaching out to the air gunning community. its nice to get feedback from people that know more than I do. Thanks for your help!
