<p>A base-coat of dark-rust, a coat of Klear floor-polish (I think it&#8217;s called Future in the States), rubber-solution stippled on with a sponge, top-coat, q-tip to rub off the rubber, another coat of Klear, a wash of umber oil-paint (very diluted with turps), powders for weathering, that&#8217;s pretty much it.</p>

<p>I agree with walther. The blodknob valve although very nicely machined is pretty overkill for most applications. You don&#8217;t need heavy hammers and heavy springs to get a .25 to 950fps. To much movement in the rifle and your bashing the valve.</p>

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>MM, I think that with putting a solid object into the base of a bottle you are effectively leaving the wall as strong as it was previously, assuming you&#8217;ve drilled and tapped it professionally and the wall doesn&#8217;t bow under pressure (and I think it does not, any bowing takes place in the bottle&#8217;s side-walls, area of least resistence?)</p>

Once you&#8217;ve filled the bottle once (at a shop with a compressor) you&#8217;ll only need to top it up thereafter, and it&#8217;s really no big deal.</p>

I&#8217;d guess that so long as the diameter of the hole did not exceed the thickness of the wall in which it was drilled it would be inherently safe under any pressure for which the bottle was rated.</p>

Once the pressure&#8217;s up that valve ain&#8217;t going anywhere, so long as it&#8217;s been given a decent pinch down onto the bottle o-ring.</p>

<p>I do, however, use the word &#8216;gas&#8217; instead of &#8216;petrol&#8217; and &#8216;chips&#8217; instead of &#8216;crisps&#8217;. Petrol and crisps are too nancy-sounding for me. I picked up a few americanisms during my years in Japan.</p>
