									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>With the second version I wasn&#8217;t as concerned with the weld strength as I was with the base material and how the heat was going to affect it. 12L14 would have machined easily but would have been a bad choice to weld, at least you are using 1018.</p>

<p>Were you using any lube that the Kodiaks may not have liked? Since you shot the Kodiaks &amp; 6-7 rings first maybe the lube wore off by the time you got to the 9rings. </p>

I&#8217;d imagine the dot spacing could very well differ from scope to scope depending on what power &amp; what formula the scope manufacturer recommends for mil-dot rangefinding.</p>
