Had it 2 years and it was the original but it has only been on the rifle a couple of times. I was using a 22 cal most of the time.

I left plenty of it so it could be epoxied into the tube of an adjustable buttstock. T adapter was 20 dollars. The coiled hose was near 30. Add a little more for misc hardware. The adjustable butt stock came of a broken but good quality airsoft gun.

I used a standard bottle connector and a coiled flex line. Then I modified a T shaped buttstock by cutting off the T end and then epoxing an adjustable stock from an airsoft gun. Works fine. A bleed valve wold be an upgrade. About 50 bucks if you buy all new (excluding the airsoft gun buttstock).

You are right about lower cost lower velocity. Just expect 60 shots at 700 vs 100+ shots at 600 with the micrometer. On the JDS tank you also need to rig up a buttpad.

Chucked the top piece (valve end) in the vice with a leather strap to protect the finish. Used a wrench on the flat spots on the tank end. Came apart quite easy. No threadlocking compound was seen.
