I put a 24″ shrouded MAC1 in an early Talon. Similar results to yours. Finally traced it down to the long barrel being able to shift in the frame. I can’t imagine turning that crankshaft for a living. A few more gears , etc. to get sucked into. Fortunately I got an degree and can work in a climate controlled environment!

Careful what you stick up your barrel. 😮 That rifling is shallow and easy to damage, especially critical at the muzzle.
